In 2015 Ameriabank is going to increase its corporate lending portfolio from $70 mln to $520 mln and retain leadership in the Armenian banking system, Gagik Sahakyan, Corporate Banking Director at Ameriabank, said when replying to ArmInfo's question at today's briefing. He specified that the Bank intends to increase the portfolio to $460 mln by late 2014. He said that it is a quite attainable indicator, because as of 1 Sept 2014 the Bank's corporate lending portfolio amounted to $430 mln, including 405 mln USD as loans (letters of credit and bank guarantees exclusive).

The next rally of the four parliamentary opposition forces would hardly ignore the constitutional reforms proposed by the ruling regime. So, in view of its differences with the other three forces concerning this issue, ARFD decided not to take part in the rally so as not to wreck it, the head of the ARFD's parliamentary group Armen Rustamyan told journalists on Wednesday.

Members of the parliament from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia are holding a confidential meeting in the parliament, "GALA" TV channel reported. They are discussing the budgetary issues. Chief treasurer of Armenia, Atom Janjugazyan, and the head of the Audit Chamber, Ishkhan Zakaryan, were present at the meeting. 

ARFD will not take part in the Oct 10 rally of the parliamentary opposition, the spokesman of the parliamentary group of Prosperous Armenia Party Naira Zohrabyan said after the opposition's meeting on Wednesday.

 Parliamentary Faction of Heritage Party has put into circulation the Armenian National Assembly's Bill On the Concept of the Military and Political Security of Armenia and Artsakh. The Bill also suggests official recognition of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic by Armenia, the Heritage Party told ArmInfo.

 Lydian International Limited plans capital investments of approximately  $426 million in the Amulsar gold project in Armenia in 2015-2016, Hayk Aloyan, Managing Director of Geoteam CJSC  (100% subsidiary of Lydian International Limited) told ArmInfo.   

He said Lydian International has lately published a Press release on the positive results from Updated Feasibility Study for its 100% -owned Amulsar Gold Mine and Heap Leach Project in Southern Armenia.  The updated feasibility study would be available on the official website of the Company within the next 45 days and will indicate that the contained g    ld reserves are 2.5 million ounces, with the plan calling for 2.1 million ounces of recovered gold.  The results of the study demonstrate that Amulsar is a compelling opportunity for the development of a large-scale, low cost operating cost mine, utilizing open mining and conventional heap leach processing.  

Aloyan said the mine life is 10.4 year with the gold production averaging over 200,000 ounces per year.  The average cash  operating cost for gold production will total $642 per ounce of gold.  Gold recoveries will total 84% and the strip ratio anticipated at 2.8:1. The feasibility study highlights accelerated after tax- cash flows in first five years to support payback of the debts required to finance the project. During the Project lifetime, the nominal throughput of 10 million of ore per year is planned from the outset, with processing of higher-grade ore during the initial five years.  The feasibility study has been prepared by SGS, an international mining consultant with additional support from other internationally recognized mining experts. .
According to the Mineral Resources Estimate by the AMC Consultants (UK) Limited, the measured and indicated quantity of gold-bearing ore at Amulsar Gold Deposit is 122,400,000 tonnes.  The estimated gold grade is 0.77 (g/t). The estimated silver grade is 3.5 (g/t), with the contained gold and silver totaling 3,030,000 (oz) and 13,930,000 (oz), respectively.  Managing Director Aloyan said gold reserves may increase after additional exploration is performed at the project.  The inferred quantity of gold bearing ore is estimated at additional 106.2 million tonnes of ore.  
Hayk Aloyan said Lydian International management is in early discussions with a number of potential lenders, including commercial banks, the International Finance Corporation and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development for project financing. 
Lydian International submitted its mining rights application at the end of July 2014. The application was subsequently accepted for review by the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources in August 2014. The initial public hearing required by the Environment Impact Assessment (EIA) Law was held in the village of Gndevaz on August 25, 2014.  The second public hearing will likely take place in October 2014, after completion of the reviews by independent experts and receipt of public comments. The Project's approval in conformity with the Law on EIA is a necessary requirement for the Company to be able to pursue international financing for the Project and start construction.
In the course of the construction activities, approximately 1,500 new jobs will be created, while the exploitation phase will involve  around 750 permanent workers, Aloyan said. 
Geoteam CJSC launched large-scale geological exploration for gold and silver at Amulsar resulting in the discovery of the deposit in 2006. It is the only new gold deposit found in Armenia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The company has already invested $69 million in exploration and development to date.

Orogen Gold plc (AIM: ORE), the AIM quoted gold exploration company, announces its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2014, the company reports. 

Yesterday Air France informed its customers of flight cancellation. According to ArmInfo's data, tomorrow's flight of the air company will also be canceled.   

Postal parcels from the U.S. have not reached Armenia for a month already. HayPost CJSC, the national postal operator of Armenia, told ArmInfo. The company has no information about the delay. 

Foreign Ministries of Armenia and Poland represented by Deputy Foreign Minister Karen Nazaryan and Deputy Foreign Minister Tomasz Orlowski have conducted political consultations, the Armenian policy department told ArmInfo.

This year's Viktor Ambartsumian International Prize will be awarded in Yerevan Sept 17.

The constitutional reforms proposed by Serzh Sargsyan are one more attempt on his part to stay in power after 2018, the head of the parliamentary group of Armenian National Congress Levon Zurabyan said during on debate on the constitutional reforms on Tuesday.

A member of the parliament from the ARFD, Artsvik Minasyan, thinks that the position of his colleagues from the non-power "four" about the constitutional reforms, is wrong. To note, three out of the four forces - Heritage, Prosperous Armenia Party and Armenian National Congress are against the constitutional reforms initiated by the authorities. 

The excavations in Artashat, the ancient capital of Greater Armenia, have been marked by one more interesting discovery.   

 Heritage party is for the parliamentary government, but thinks it is not the issue to be resolved at present, the head of the Heritage parliamentary faction, Ruben Hakobyan, said over today's discussions of the draft project of the conception on the constitutional reforms. 

 Archeologists have found an old tomb of a high-class man in near the village of Gegharot on the side of Mount Aragats.

 The countersabotage systems have been set at the borders of Armenia and Karabakh, Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan said at today's meeting with students and teachers of Yerevan State University.  He said this is serious obstacle for the sabotage groups of the adversary. "Thanks to these systems, the sabotage groups of the adversary can not move forward and were caught by Armenian armed forces", he said. As for crossing of the border by civilians, the minister said that there is a complex mountain and wood landscape at the line of contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan, which does not make it possible to control every meter of the border. "However, there are many signs there, and if a man follows them, he cannot lose his way", - he said and added that chiefly people with mental troubles crossed the border, as they did not pay attention at the signs.
