Today, the Armenian Assembly of America (Assembly) welcomed the National Council of Churches (NCC) letter to President Obama which stated: "While Syrians of all religious communities are caught up in this horrible conflict, of particular concern to us are the Christian communities, which are often the most vulnerable," reported the Assembly. 

"We are deeply troubled by recent fighting and violence that is endangering the Armenian community in Kasab, Syria, and has forced many to flee. There are far too many innocent civilians suffering as a result of the war. All civilians, as well as their places of worship, must be protected," State Department Deputy Spokesperson Marie Harf said at a briefing on Mar 28.

Russia sells gas to no other country at such a low price. Moreover, the domestic consumers of Russia receive gas at such tariffs. We have spoken of it so much that everybody has realized that the gas tariffs will undergo no tangible changes within the next 5 years; even if they do, the growth will be no more than 5%, i.e. as much as the gas price growth for the Russian consumers", the President said. "Not only the citizens of Armenia, but also the foreign investors are aware of it and they are planning to move their power-consuming industries to Armenia with due regard for these realities", he said. "Moreover, they can export their products from Armenia to the Customs Union countries", he added.

 Armenia's stance on the UN Resolution on Ukraine shows how rapidly the country is losing its sovereignty, says Pre-Parliament public interest group in a statement.

The Union of Artsakh War Veterans calls on the Armenian Diaspora to start mass demonstrations to support the Armenians of Kessab. In particular, the veterans expressed their concern over the Turkish aggression against Armenians and call on the international community to condemn the situation in Kessab. "All measures should be taken to evacuate the citizens and keep their property in Kessab", the statement says. 

More than 88% of Armenia's population are against introduction of mandatory funded pension system, a representative of the plaintiff's party, human rights defender, Artak Zeynalyan, said at today's sitting of the Constitutional Court.  

 In UN Armenia voted in line with its own national interests, the head of the Heritage parliamentary faction, Ruben Hakopyan, said  at today's briefing in the parliament and added this is his personal point of view.
