In May 2014 Armenia will be ready for signing the agreement on joining the Eurasian Economic Union, Armenia's Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan said at the 2nd Economic Forum of the Republican Party of Armenia "Armenia-Customs Union: Opportunities and Challenges" on Saturday.
"The Eurasian Economic Union will go live on Jan 1 2015 but in May 2014 we will already be able to sign our accession agreement. Currently this document is being scrutinized by the parliament. Once we sign it, we will have to do a lot to amend our laws," Kocharyan said.
As was reported earlier, the Russian, Kazakh and Byelorussian presidents may sign the Eurasian Economic Union agreement in Astana in late May 2014.
